An outdoor city place
Pearl Street Mall is an outdoor pedestrian street and city park. The City identifies its core as 11th to 15th Street; Pearl Street and downtown continue beyond it. Use normal crossings at the intersecting streets.
The City records dedication as a public park on 6 August 1977. Its brick paving and gathering spaces developed through an effort to orient this part of downtown toward pedestrians. The City’s June 2026 project update describes assessment and preparation for 2027 maintenance and anniversary work. Check the refresh project for changes affecting your visit; this guide has no live works monitoring.

Maps listed 24 hours on 2026-10-30. This is a dated third-party listing, not confirmation of live access, lighting or night-time safety. Downtown Boulder says stores are independently operated and hours vary; visitor services and events also have their own schedules.
This review found no current general-admission tariff for the public pedestrian space. Budget separately for shopping, food, parking or ticketed programmes. Choose how long to stay around the venues and crossings you need; no fixed journey time is promised.
Downtown Boulder lists public restrooms north of the visitor centre at 13th and Pearl and another location at 9th and Canyon. Confirm current access and facilities. Read the published mall rules on animals, service-animal provisions, cycling, skating and smoking; dismount bicycles on the bricks.
The City directory lists garages at 10th and Walnut, 11th and Walnut, 11th and Spruce, 14th and Walnut, and 15th and Pearl. It also warns of ongoing 2026 repair work. The City’s 28 August 2026 announcement of its 2027 Recommended Budget also lists renovations to the 1500 Pearl Parking Garage. This is a budget recommendation, not confirmation of approval, a closure, construction dates or visitor impact; confirm those details with the City. A directory entry is not live confirmation of availability: check the construction notices and the exact facility before setting out.
The City publishes free weekend and city-holiday parking in its downtown garages, with exceptions and separate terms elsewhere. Do not transfer that arrangement to every private garage, street space or Depot Square Boulder Junction. Check posted rates, service fees and payment instructions for your chosen facility.
The City identifies its 14th and Walnut garage beside the RTD bus station. Use RTD’s current journey information to choose a service; this guide does not promise a particular frequency or walking time from every stop.
Plan shade, clothing and rest stops for the actual conditions. Check National Weather Service Boulder forecasts and warnings before outdoor plans. The site has no live weather feed. Need a step-free route or specific facilities? Confirm the relevant entrance and crossing before arrival.

A separate destination
The following places retain their own access, fees, conditions and schedules. They are not a surveyed short-walk circle or a guaranteed all-sights itinerary.
The museum operator lists 2205 Broadway at Broadway and Pine. Check its own opening, admission, exhibitions and access arrangements before adding it to the walk.

The City of Boulder identifies the pedestrian mall as four blocks of Pearl Street between 11th and 15th Streets. Pearl Street continues beyond those blocks. Cross streets still require normal pedestrian crossings; the entire downtown area is not one car-free route.
Maps lists 1303 Pearl St, and Downtown Boulder identifies the Visitor Information Center at that address. It is a useful reference near 13th Street, not the sole entrance or a single street address covering every business. This review did not survey a step-free entrance.
